Troy DeVries (ex Konyaspor) agreed terms with FC Porto | LUIS FILIPE CRISTOVAO

FC Porto (LPB) strengthened their roster with addition American guard Troy DeVries (193-90kg-82, college: N.Mexico). He has played for the last two years at Konyaspor in Turkish BSL league. In 24 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 16.9ppg and had 3.0rpg and 2.9apg last season. DeVries was selected to Turkish League All-Star Game in 2014.

He is a very experienced player. DeVries has played also professionally in Australia (Adelaide 36ers and Spirit), Germany, Spain (Unicaja Malaga, La ICL Manresa, Girona FC, Melilla Baloncesto and Lleida Basquet), Ukraine (Sumykhimprom Sumy) and Venezuela (Trotamundos).

He attended University of New Mexico until 2005 and it will be his eleventh season in pro basketball.

The scouts decsribe him following way: Troy is one of the greatest three point shooters in the United States, and he put up outstanding numbers at the University of New Mexico. Troy would bring any teams scoring numbers up right away. Troy also can put up numbers with assists and steals. Troy has been known for being one of the most accurate three point shooters in the game. He can also play great defense.

DeVries will take the place of Seth Hinrichs in the FC Porto’s roster. Hinrichs is injured and would not be able to play during eight to twelve weeks.
